Feeling rather Blessed!

All I have to say is WOW!  It's amazing what happens when you start to rely completely on God and stop worrying about the small stuff.  At the beginning of this month, I decided that I was going to do some promotional work (for free) around the local area.  What I didn't realize was that a little bit of generosity went a long ways!  Within the next few weeks all my weekends were booked and I have received a steady stream of requests for sessions!  WOW!  I never thought my little business would 'take-off' like this!!  I'm so thrilled, but I know that my talents come from God alone and He is the one to receive all the glory! Friends and Fans, thank you for all your support!!

Here are a few images from this month!  I'm gearing up for Mini Sessions this weekend and the following weekend :)  Look for the sneak peaks on Flying Flamingo Fotographie's Facebook Page!!

Lessons Learned

Hello friends!!  WOW, what a summer!!  After living out of a suitcase for close to 6 months, we finally moved into a beautiful home.  I feel all settled in and excited to concentrate on my 'fotographie.'!!  I'm loving all the Nebraska has to offer, especially the different seasons!!   Fall is my favorite season- apple picking, leaves turnings, pumpkin pie, cooler weather, candles, and fall festivals.

Most of you already know that I'm pregnant, due in the beginning of January!  My husband and I are really excited!!  As my belly grows, so do the limitations my body can handle, especially when it comes to working with kids or getting that certain angle for a foto.  Here are a few lessons I've learned and I thought I'd share because I found them pretty funny!

1. Stretch before a foto shoot: I've pull a hamstring. Lame, I know.
2.  No matter how hard you try, you can't lay on your belly: I look like a beach whale trying to maneuver into the perfect angle.
3.  Sneakers are my shoes of choice: they come in handy when you've got to chase after 2 year olds trying to capture that 'perfect smile.'
4. Always pee before a foto shoot: I hate port-a-jons. enough sad.
5. Load up on bubbles, balloons, cars, fruit snacks, suckers: toddlers love anything that moves, is sparkely, or that can be put in their mouths!  I look like a clown with all of this in tow...and I'll do anything for a smile :)
6. Write things down: my memory is bad enough, now add on to it preggo memory....it's downhill for me!
7. Be able to laugh at yourself!!!!!!!  There are times when I need clients to help me get up off the floor-not joking!  Besides, it lightens the mood if you can crack a few jokes :)

Here are a few fotos from the past few months.

I'm feeling so blessed right now!  God is doing great things in my life and I'm excited to see what the future has in store for me!!

Migrating to Omaha, NE

Life has been pretty crazy around here this past week.  Among all the choas I had a chance to do my very first 'Trash The Dress' session with a beautiful bride!!  We went all over Del Rio and I had a great time photographing her!!
I get such a thrill when I discover new places!  This old church provided a perfect backgroud/prop for a few casual shoots.  We even got a few 'shout outs' from people driving by :)

As most of you know, the weather in Del Rio is really funky.  At the beginning of the week I was in shorts and a tank top....now we are experiencing snow flurries.  Thankfully, the weather was perfect on this day...so perfect, that we decided to go down to the creek for a little swim.

The rope swing was just an added bonus!!  What fun!!

I'm going to miss Del Rio.  I have had a lot of good memories here and it is going to be hard to leave.  I'm exicted to see what God has in store for us in Omaha, NE!!
